News Stories2010 SIOP Congress to be Held in Boston, MABoston, Massachusetts, was recently selected as the site of the 42nd Société Internationale d'Oncologie Pédiatrique (SIOP) Annual Congress. SIOP, which in English is the International Society of Pediatric Oncology, holds its annual meeting on a different continent every fall. The organization has approximately 1,100 members and is dedicated to promoting the global exchange of information and good practice in pediatric oncology. The annual congress was last held in the United States in San Francisco, Calif., in 1993. The 2010 event will take place October 21-24, at the John B. Hynes Veterans Memorial Convention Center. Staff from Dana-Farber and Children’s will sit on the local organizing committee, helping to outline the meeting’s academic and social agenda.
