Researchers identify promising gene target for neuroblastoma therapy

New hydration service provides freedom, flexibility to pediatric patients

At 1:00 p.m. ETD on Wednesday, October 25, 2006, Children's Hospital Boston's neurosurgeon Joseph R. Madsen, MD, performed an MRI-guided brain tumor resection with cortical mapping on a 13-year-old patient live from Children's new intraoperative MRI. The MR/OR is an operating room fitted with a 15,000-pound ceiling-mounted, movable MRI scanner. This is the first and only system of its kind at a pediatric hospital in the country and young brain tumor patients treated through can access this new technology. This advanced technology allows surgeons to determine the extent of a tumor while the patient is undergoing surgery to ensure its accurate removal. View a replay of this Webcast
