Manley joins pediatric faculty

Peter Manley, MD
Peter Manley, MD, has been named director of the Stop & Shop Family Pediatric Neuro-Oncology Outcomes Clinic, the Institute's specialized late-effect clinic for pediatric brain tumor survivors.
He joins Dana-Farber/Children's Hospital Cancer Care (DF/CHCC) from Hasbro Children's Hospital, where as director of Pediatric Neuro-Oncology he oversaw the comprehensive pediatric brain tumor treatment and clinical trials program.
"Peter is a great clinician with a long-standing interest in neuro-oncology survivorship. He completed his fellowship at Harvard and has the leadership abilities to integrate the larger field of survivorship studies at DF/CHCC," says Mark Kieran, MD, PhD, director of Pediatric Medical Neuro-Oncology.
In addition to patient care, the Outcomes Clinic faculty and staff conduct research in a variety of areas. "Our goal not only includes cataloging the path of survivors, but also collecting data and working to determine how we can improve survivorship by preventing damage before it occurs," says Manley.
The Outcomes Clinic, which is part of the Perini Family Survivors' Center at Dana-Farber, meets weekly at the Jimmy Fund Clinic and is staffed by an interdisciplinary group that includes pediatric neuro-oncologists, neurosurgeons, neurologists, radiation oncologists, and endocrinologists. Psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, physical and occupational therapists, resource specialists, educators, genetic counselors, and others also take part.
