Michelson Joins Hematology Faculty
Launches Center for Platelet Research Studies

Alan Michelson, MB, BS was appointed director, Center for Platelet Research Studies and director, Thrombosis Program and Anticoagulation Service at Children's Hospital Boston. Dr. Michelson is one of the world's foremost experts in pediatric bleeding disorders, platelet disorders, and thrombosis. In May 2009, he launched the Center for Platelet Research Studies, a multidisciplinary center that will perform basic, translational and clinical research on platelets of patients with thrombotic and bleeding disorders. The center will study platelet function and initiate new clinical trials. More information is available at www.platelets.org.
